About Tabla Workshop

Subrata Manna conducts regular workshop of Tabla in various parts of India and abroad, where he teaches Hindustani Tala system & Carnatic rhythmic patterns and mathematics. These workshops were attended by percussionist from foreign countries. He takes care about all different level of students such as beginner, intermediate and advanced in the workshop. His aim is that after successful completion of this workshop students should be able to gain sound knowledge of Hindustani rhythmic system and some knowledge about Carnatic rhythm and it´s application in other genre of percussion music. The students also acquire the skill of accompanying with different genres of Hindustani Classical and Light Music or even with Jazz, rock pop music enabling them to become successful performers in the right sense of the word.

Prerequisite

Who can Join the Tabla Workshop

  • Someone who has keen interest in learning this percussion instrument.
  • Beginners who has no knowledge about Tabla
  • Who has already learnt Tabla and other percussion instrument and want to
    further enhance his or her skill in his/her genre of percussion music.
  • Someone who is aiming to become a regular performer or Tabla exponent.

Fairly good set of Tabla along with necessary accessories like rings, hammer,
a fresh copy book, Powder etc. A device like Laptop or tablet or mobile phone.
Good internet connection. And most importantly adequate practice.
